Taking inspiration from James Hillman and C. G. Jung, we will use the topic of dismembering and re-membering to explore different psychological realms of the public sphere, academic disciplines, psychological theory and the interior psyche of the artist. There will be four workshops addressing and dismantling the so-called public-personal and inside-outside psychic divisions. Debate, arts practice, dreamwork and imaginative exercises will address chaos as we manage it in our newly Dionysian paradigm. The workshops include revisioning Jungian psychology as a proto-transdisciplinary discourse that brings imagination and science into rejuvenating re-membering.
This day will combine lecture and experiential learning but will focus on dialogue. The day is aimed at everyone who wants to break out of old patterns through the collective drama of Dionysus. So we invoke the artist AND the scientist, the teacher AND the student, the conservative AND the liberal. Dionysus is dangerous AND necessary - a path through chaotic times to a re-membering of who we are.
