Active Imagination and the Living Mandala of the Andean Mesa
Tuesdays, April 6th, April 20th, May 4th
7pm - 8:30pm
Livestream Only
Tuition: $110
These classes will introduce the practice of active imagination and the creation of the living mandala of the Mesa. The Andean Mesa is a personal altar connecting one to the Apus (mountain spirits), animal guides and elemental forces within the cosmovision of the medicine women and men from the high Andes. We will use Jungian and Andean perspectives to understand the symbology of the mandala and relate to the archetypal energies contained within. Participants will be guided in creating their own personal Mesa with a spirit of play and curiosity. Each class member will need a Mesa cloth, four stones, and one crystal. In our challenging world, the creation of these Mesas provides a centering, integrating, and connecting touchstone to help us in our personal and professional lives.
RAPHAEL ROD BIRNEY, MD is a psychiatrist, interfaith minister, Mesa carrier in the Peruvian Rainbow lineage, and guide in a universal Sufi order. His therapy practice offers Jungian oriented psychotherapy and meditation. He has a lifelong passion for the integration of depth psychology, neuroscience, contemplative practice, and quantum physics.
