Patients whose depressions need psychiatric evaluation for medical treatment also need and respond to psychotherapeutic attention. Jungian work often includes a therapeutic relationship, interpretation of dreams, pictures created by patients who cannot put their feelings into words, and active imagination in which complexes are both symbolized and confronted which often loosens the grip of unconscious so that insight can produce energy for conscious adaptation.
JOHN BEEBE, MD is a past President of the C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Founding Editor of The San Francisco Jung Institute Library Journal (now called Jung Journal), Beebe is the author of Integrity in Depth and Energies and Patterns in Psychological Type.
MARGO LEAHY, MD, associate clinical professor, University of California, San Francisco, is a certified Jungian child and adult analyst. She is the past director of the Child Psychiatry Clinic at Stanford University. She teaches widely and gives workshops on Jungian child analysis.
KHENU SINGH, MD is a Jungian analyst and psychiatrist in private practice in Berkeley, California. He is a former assistant clinical professor with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, and works as a psychiatrist at Santa Rita Jail, as part of the Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services Adult Forensic Behavioral Health division.

He is the author of Integrity in Depth and of Energies and Patterns in Psychological Type: The Reservoir of Consciousness. He has written the preface to the recent Routledge Classics edition of Jung’s 1921 book, Psychological Types. His eight function, eight-archetype model of type is widely studied and applied. |

Margo Leahy, MD Brief Bio : Margo Leahy, M.D., is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and certified Jungian child and adult analyst who studied at Stanford University, the Society of Analytical Psychology in London and the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco. She is a past Director of the Child Psychiatry Clinic at Stanford and currently an associate professor at UCSF.
