Section 10: Active Imagination and the Transcendent Function: Contemporary Perspectives

Description: We will review Jung’s discovery and development of Active Imagination and the Transcendent Function, and explore how contemporary Jungian Analysis has broadened (for example, developed the use of movement as an Active Imagination, and the transference as a form of Active Imagination). We will consider Active Imagination in the therapeutic relationship, and explore how the therapist might make use of Active Imagination to work with countertransference material.
