Description: This section will consist of five classes, three consecutive meetings in October 2025 and two classes at the end of the year in May 2026.
The October classes will introduce Jung’s theory of dream interpretation using Dreams, by
C.G. Jung, and his Two Essays on Analytical Psychology as the main source books.
The final two classes (in May) will explore Jung’s writings on dream symbolism in relation to Alchemy, one of Jung’s primary metaphors for psychological growth.
The first hour of each meeting will introduce the class to a central aspect of Jung’s theory of dream interpretation, and the second hour will consist of discussions of case material involving dreams, focused on clinical applications of the concepts.
Class participants will be encouraged to examine their personal relationships to dreams, and how that informs their approach to clients’ material. Participants will be invited to consider tracking their dream lives through journaling, paying particular attention to how dreams in sequence resonate with each other.
