Mindful Imagination: Active Imagination and Buddhist Meditation
May 9th
10am - 1pm
TUITION: $90
3 CEUs
Livestream Only
This workshop invites participants to engage in a rich dialogue between the principles of active imagination, rooted in analytical psychology, and non-reactive cultivation of Buddhist meditation. Together, we will navigate the landscapes of these practices, seeking common threads and uncovering the potential synergies to deepen psychological work. In addition to regular slide presentations, Dr. Cheng will foster exercises and discussions to invite embodied experiences. Join us as we embark on a journey of cross-fertilization of active imagination and two primary forms of Buddhist meditation.
WEN-YU CHENG, PsyD, a Jungian analyst, neuropsychologist, and certified Hakomi therapist, integrates Buddhist perspectives and somatic mindfulness into psychotherapy, analysis, and neurorehabilitation. A board member of the C.G. Jung Institute and teacher-in-training with Hakomi China, he is a lifelong Vipassana meditator and leads meditation for spinal cord injury support at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
