Pele, Hawaiian Goddess of the Volcano
1:30 - 3PM
FACULTY: Carolyn Bray, PhD
TUITION: $90
3 CEUs
LIVESTREAM and AT THE INSTITUTE
Anger or rage develop one irritation built upon another, or it erupts in surprising outbursts of aggressive actions or words often with an unknown, unidentified source. At its worst expression, these uninvited emotions encourage destructive actions or words that carry significant consequences. Avoiding expression through suppression, while understandable, is the harmful default choice of many, especially women. In this course, the anger/rage coin will flip to the other side—creativity. Following the mythology of Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of the volcano and the goddess of destruction in service of creation, we will explore the desires that live beneath anger and rage transforming these troublesome emotions into life affirming creations.
